There is a new art gallery at Canal Center Plaza in Old Town North

A new art gallery in Old Town North will celebrate its official opening with an event featuring a number of artists from Alexandria.
Beginning October 8 (Saturday), the Old Town Arts Alliance will celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month at Canal Center Plaza (44 Canal Center) in the new North Arts District of Old Town.
The Party for the Arts will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature performances on several outdoor stages and a special art exhibition at the new gallery.
“The objectives of this event are to provide a collaborative platform to promote the city’s arts and culture sector as it recovers from the pandemic, and to highlight the power of the arts to inspire, to spark change and contribute to a vibrant, prosperous and inclusive city,” according to a statement from the Old Town Arts Alliance.
