The Art Gallery of Algoma and the Sault Symphony Orchestra have partnered to host Spring Fusion, an evening of art and music at the Art Gallery. The event will take place on Friday, April 8 and will feature singer-songwriter Trevor Tchir, classical violin duo Anya Mallinger and Erica Mancuso, and jazz trio Brandon Ruch, Emmanuel Aigbukor and Rafael Medina. Attendees can also view the Art Gallery’s Winter Festival art collection while listening to the concert. Broers Jansen will be providing bites and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online.
BrianT and Sinister Hearts
BrianT & The Sinister Hearts will perform live at the Marconi Cultural Event Center this Friday, April 8 starting at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar and food available. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The band’s music is a mix of classic rock and country blues, influenced by Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Petty, The Beatles and many more.
Eric Brombacher in concert at Tazzi’s Café
Eric Brombacher of Eric & The Soo will perform at Tazzi’s Cafe (478 Queen St. E.) on Saturday, April 9 from 7-10 p.m. “I always love to sing and scratch for my friends in Sault Ste. Marie, and Tazzi’s is a wonderful place to do just that. Can’t wait to see you all,” Brombacher said on the event’s Facebook page.
Spring Gift & Craft Fair
The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center is hosting a gift and craft show April 9-10 in honor of spring. Fifty local vendors will sell gifts and crafts just in time for Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, weddings and more. Admission will be by donation to the Bushplane Museum. The concession will be open for lunch and snacks and there will be a daily door prize draw.
Yoga with strong minds
In case you missed the first few classes, Amanda Lambert of Strong Minds will host another virtual yoga class on Monday, April 11 from 6-7 p.m. The course will suit local youngsters of all levels. Registration can be done online.
Easter egg hunt
Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site and Insectarium Entomica have partnered to host an Easter event on April 15. Participants can bring their own Easter basket and participate in a scavenger hunt starting at the Ermatinger Site Heritage Discovery Center and ending at the Insectarium Entomica. at the Bushplane Museum. Solve puzzles and earn a bag of Easter treats at the end of the hunt. Entomica will have insects, chickens, alpacas and rabbits to play with. Admission is $10 per child, adults included. Registration can be found online by searching Egg Hunt and selecting a timeslot.
Easter Eggs at the Library
The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library (50 East Street) celebrates Easter with fun activities on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages can participate in Easter crafts while supplies last. No registration is necessary, but parents must stay with children under 10 years old.
