Seoul Arts Center Opens Performance Media Studio

Seoul Arts Center (SAC) Performance Media Studio is a comprehensive creative center for performance videos, from filming and editing, to post-production and transmission/broadcast.

This media studio has a general white studio filming site with a width of 17m, a length of 13m and a height of 5m, a post-acoustic editing room equivalent to a film studio commercial, a control room that transmits performance images to an online platform in real time and a color correction room equipped with state-of-the-art imaging software and equipment. It also has a video editing room isolated and unaffected by its environment.

In particular, the studio has a 4K camera for movies to implement cinematic-quality high-resolution images. CG work is also possible using the chroma key area. In addition, it is equipped with specialized sound, lighting and filming equipment so that the working process which was mainly done in film shootings can become possible in the performing arts sector such as plays theater, musicals and classical music.

SAC plans to use the Performance Media Studio to enable video production of its own planned performances and to support the production of performance videos for private performing arts groups and artists. Performances from SAC’s multimedia studio and concert hall can be streamed live on the Internet and on television.
