ROCKLAND – The Coastal Islands of Maine Art Gallery presents three exhibits examining the natural environment through the prism of a variety of artistic techniques. This exhibit will be on display throughout the winter at the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Visitor Center, 9 Water St.
Camden artist and local photographer Brandon Simpson explores the nature of the coast of Maine through the lens of vintage Polaroid cameras.
Sandi Cirillo of Searsport is a fiber and mixed media artist who uses the solar plate etching process. She showcases the beauty that surrounds her through her images of special places she has visited in the state.
Twelve artists from the Midcoast present a rich and diverse exhibit on the beauty of the coast in “Perspectives of the Gulf of Maine, Coastal Wildlife, and Winter.”
The galleries are open to visitors Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on public holidays. Hours are extended on Saturdays, December 4 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All art sales support both the artists and the Friends group. The Nature store will also be open for holiday shopping.
