Groundbreaking takes place for the Idaho Central Spokane Valley Performing Arts Center

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — At 11 a.m. Saturday, a grand opening took place for Central Idaho’s new Spokane Valley Performing Arts Center!

Work on the building will begin this fall and is expected to be fully completed by June 2024.

The facility’s general manager, Marine Rorholm, said the performing arts center would provide local employment for people wishing to work in the theater industry.

“All of the artists, musicians, technicians and staff will be paid employees, so it’s really going to create a lot of jobs for the area,” Rorholm said. “In addition, the revenue generated will really contribute to the economy, hospitality and tourism. [of Spokane.] It’s a win-win for everyone. »

They also hope the new facility can boost local tourism as well as the local economy.

The building is on East Mansfield, near Parc Mirabeau, which will feature locally produced theater performances and local talent.
