ART+RAY Fine Art Gallery presents PEACE & WAR: STAND WITH UKRAINE

ART+RAY Fine Art Gallery will present Peace & War: Stand with Ukraine on Sunday, July 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The free event will feature the works of contemporary artist Ang-Ray, with a portion of all art sales benefiting Razom, which provides humanitarian aid to the war in Ukraine. The ART+RAY gallery is located on the ground floor of 305 East 9th Street (between 1st and 2nd avenues) in the East Village.

“This exhibition will be a celebration of the art and diversity of the East Village. The works on display explore peace and war, conflict and the connections between people around the world,” Ang-Ray said. “It is inspiring to see the people of New York, especially the East Village, coming together to help Ukraine. The artwork in this exhibit reflects the human spirit and we are proud to donate 20 % of profits from all artwork sold on the opening day of Razom for the benefit of the Ukrainian people and refugees.”

Ang-Ray’s art consists of three different series: the Olympix, the Organic CP and the Portrait and Figurative. The Olympix series are works of art (acrylic and oil/rice paper on canvas) of interlocking multicolored ellipses that depict people of different colors and races connecting and creating understanding, tolerance and harmony. The Organic CP series includes mixed media oil paintings, monochrome prints and drawings exploring the connections between people and their environment. The Portrait and Figurative series depicts the complex set of personality traits in individuals.

Born in Asia, on the island of Borneo, Ang-Ray first found his inspiration to create art while traveling in Myanmar. In the village of Bagan, Ang-Ray fell in love with the culture of the community and decided to study fine arts. He moved to Hong Kong and began to study Chinese calligraphy, oil painting, drawing and watercolor on rice paper. He continued his studies in New York at the National Academy School of Fine Arts and the Art Students League Academy. New York City has become his home. He launched ART+RAY Fine Art Gallery in the East Village in July 2021. The gallery promotes the works of emerging New York artists.

Ang-Ray has previously exhibited works at the Hong Kong Convention Center, Cork Gallery, ARC Gallery Chelsea, National Academy Juried Show, Park Avenue Atrium, New York Public Library, Southampton Cultural Center and the East Hampton Artists Open Studio. .
