ARTclectic™ Art Gallery Announces Featured Artist Exhibit: Distinguished Mixed Media Artist Ken Landon Buck

CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ARTclectic™ Art Gallery announces a Featured Artists Exhibit Opening Reception on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at 6249 Stewart Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The art exhibit will feature works by Ken Landon Buck. Ken is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning mixed media artist working primarily in watercolour, acrylic and pastel.

Ken has achieved signature status in numerous watercolor and pastel societies nationwide and has won awards and “Best of Show” awards in top national juried shows.

His work has been featured in national and international publications, including Encyclopedia of Living Artists in America, Artists of Ohio, Creative Watercolor, Pastel Journal, Manifest: The Nude 2, and “Ichimal no E” magazine in Japan. An article about his drawing techniques was published in the magazine of the Pastel Society of America, Pastelagram. In 2020, he was named one of Pastel Journal’s Top 100 Artists. He also recently appeared on WCET’s ‘The Art Show’.

His paintings are in many private and public collections, including the Cincinnati Financial Corporation, Baker Hunt Foundation, Erlanger Public Library, and Springfield Museum of Art.

Ken taught pastel and watercolor classes for many years at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center. Ken began teaching at the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center in 2015. His classes quickly grew in popularity with students eager to learn his techniques. He encourages his students to see color, line and movement in a new way. In 2021 he was named Baker Hunt Artist-in-Residence where he now has an art studio in the newly renovated Scudder Building on the historic Baker Hunt campus.

Buck creates dynamic figurative artwork and is best known for his striking large-scale scenes of swimmers interacting with light and water.

“I have to paint. That’s all I do. I think it, I sleep it, I wake up and I constantly think about art. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true,” says Ken Buck with a laugh. “Before painting, I draw a lot and I erase a lot until I have this moment that speaks to me. I redraw and redraw until it’s perfect for me.

“We are honored to present the exceptional works of accomplished artist, Ken Buck,” said Starr Shebesta, Gallery Owner of ARTclectic Gallery. “The local art-loving community will be amazed by his extraordinary talent.”

Ken will be available in person at the opening reception to speak with visitors about his work. Guests will also be treated to libations, light snacks and music from Blue Night Jazz.

This flagship art exhibit will be on display during the months of September and October along with works by other accomplished Cincinnati artists encompassing figurative and abstract wall art, sculpture and textiles.
