VERNON – Arts Center East in Vernon presents the biennial regional exhibition of the New England Watercolor Society, until Sunday, October 31.
The exhibition, juried and judged by acclaimed artist Anni Crouter AWS, SAA, features 66 watercolors from all six New England states.
The New England Watercolor Society (NEWS) sponsors many shows throughout the year, but only the Biennale (regional in odd years and North American in even years) is open to non-members, and only acceptance of the biennial counts towards obtaining a Signature membership in NEWS. This is the first NEWS Biennial organized by a Connecticut gallery in over a decade.
The East Arts Center is located at 709 Hartford Turnpike. The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are required to wear masks in the building.
Arts of Tolland, 22 Tolland Green, will host local contemporary landscape artist Blanche Serban in October.
The opening hours of the gallery are Wednesday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
