The profound power of photography will be boldly showcased this month at the Photography Show, presented by AIPAD. Now in its 41st edition, the New York show claims to be the longest-running exhibition dedicated to the photographic medium.
Every exhibitor at the show will be a member of the prestigious Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) and the members-only show will open this Friday, May 20 through May 22, 2022 on New York’s Fifth Avenue.

This year’s AIPAD show will showcase a tantalizing array of the most contemporary, museum-quality works, displayed alongside modern and exemplary examples of 19th century fine art photography. An exciting and fresh atmosphere is to be expected, bringing together 49 galleries from 9 countries and 23 cities across the United States and around the world.
The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) was founded in 1979 and represents over 80 of the world’s leading galleries in fine art photography, photo-based art, video and new media.
AIPAD is known for its dedication to creating and maintaining the highest standards of scholarship and practice in the exhibition, purchase and sale of fine art photography.
This year, The Photography Show will be hosted at a new location in midtown Manhattan: Center415 on Fifth Avenue in New York City, located between 37th and 38th streets. The exhibition will run concurrently with Frieze New York, a contemporary African art fair 1-54, Volta New York and other photography and art fairs.
A number of events have been held in conjunction with and ahead of The Photography Show, with a series and program of six virtual ‘AIPAD Talks’ in conjunction with Aperture taking place on May 18 and featuring leaders influential people in the world of photography, museum curators and renowned artists. AIPAD discussions are free to the public who must first register to access them.
AIPAD has also entered into a partnership with the International Center of Photography where it will present a Photobook Fest on May 21 and 22, with opening hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival will take place in ICP’s newest building on the Lower East Side, located at 79 Essex Street, New York.
The event will feature leading, independent photo book publishers and photographers showcasing their latest image-based books, as well as online programming and in-person book signings. Participants can benefit from free access to the Photobook Fest by presenting their show ticket at the International Center of Photography.

We look forward to presenting a highly targeted members fair at a new location in the middle of Manhattan and with dates that put AIPAD on the exciting arts calendar in May.
The opening hours of The Photography Show presented by AIPAD are as follows:
Friday May 20: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday May 21: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday May 22: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
