Promotional Opportunity for Musicians - Get heard!

KFAR Jewish Arts Center is offering musicians and ensembles the opportunity to expand their fan base and have their music heard by thousands of potential fans. A limited number of acts will be have one of their songs selected for inclusion on a Download Cards of contemporary Jewish Music tracks that will be distributed to free thousands of people throughout 2010-2011. Our aim is to build enjoyment of Jewish cultural identity and awareness of KFAR through the enjoyment of music of artists we whose contemporary twist on Jewish heritage is central to our programs.

Participating artists already include The Sway Machinery, Sagol59 and the Moshe Skier Band.

The cards will be distributed at dozens of KFAR's events all year year long, as well as at civic events and institutions such as Chicago SummerDance, Old Town School of Folk Music, Chicago Cultural Center, Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, the Chicago World Music Festival, the Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema, Limmud Chicago and the Greater Chicago Jewish Festival. Participating artists can be provided with a quantity to distribute at their own performances.

Participating artists should first create a profile on KFAR's website (which is a good promotional tool in its own right) and then provide permission to use one track of their choosing- it can even be a 'free' track already have posted online somewhere. To have a song considered, complete and submit a release form. The deadline is June 11th, 5pm.
